FAM, a big joke!

The most recent decision to increase the number of teams in Super League is a joke. The same people who went for meeting this time, were the same people who once decided that "7 teams in Super League give us better quality". Foreign players quota has been reduced to 3 per team, because "we want more Malaysian players to involve".

I say, why don't we put a team with 7 imports and 4 Malaysians with high quality of football skills? People could be better entertained, and if one team have at least 4 highly qualified Malaysians, in 14 teams we have 56. Choose the best 22 and we have a better (if not greater) national team. But now quantity is better for the FAM officials. Clowns.

However, the most unacceptable decision was to only allow 2 clubs to take part in the historic Malaysia Cup. Why do we revert to the yesteryears? Doesn't it mean we are taking a few steps behind? Most successful countries in football are banking on their domestic clubs, or abroad clubs, to produce great footballers. These are professional clubs, run by professional people, without depending on governement fundings.

In Malaysia, we have a few clubs that are doing better (e.g. MPPJ, TM FC, Johor FC) than their own state teams! Is this fact is overlooked by FAM, or the officials need new glasses to see through the statistics?? These clubs should be helped for grassroot level improvement, not by denying them entries to Malaysia's most celebrated Cup.
